Much Ado About Nothing Bronx Theatre reviews
Danny is a God
Let's start by getting this straight. Author & Punisher is incredible, if I hadn’t wanted to get a poster I would highly recommend checking out this band. Injecting flesh eating disease into my ears sounds more appealing than listening to that again. Now...
Back is Much Ado About Nothing! Loving the new album personally, this show was a spectacular display of the album. The album clearly showcases Danny after a few listens. The drum-intensive setlist featured Merkaba & Chocolate Trip Chip, making the show the same way.
Adam puts on a spectacular performance throughout the show and has some incredible solos.
Justin, who performs amazingly well, stands out to me. He is so good that you don’t even notice him; you assume the noise he makes is a recording because it's so spot on.
Maynard does what Maynard does, wandering at the back of the stage, staying in the shadows, and avoiding the spotlights. His vocals were great as always, even though he skipped the intense screams in songs like vicarious and a few others. He seemed a bit rushed in a few songs, which is surprising given that most of them are 7+ minutes long.
The most impressive was Danny, with Justin following closely as a close second. Seeing Danny’s hands moving up close gave me a newfound appreciation for him. He makes it look effortless the entire time, except when he’s powering through some of the most intense drum tracks they've recorded & performed, like fear inoculum, descending & invincible, among others. He proves he deserves the many accolades he has received for his skills behind the drums.
In conclusion, an absolutely incredible show, as I always expect from this amazing quartet. Undoubtedly one of the best performances in rock and roll today that must be experienced at least once in a lifetime.
